Matchup history

Seymour took both games in blowout fashion defeating Mormon Trail 14-1 and 15-2. The first game only went three innings while the second game was finished after five innings.

One key player for Seymour

You can really take your pick in this game but let’s go with Ori Trimble. The freshman pitched in both games of this series and could once again be the choice if they want to keep Thayda Houser fresh for a potential trip to the quarterfinals. Between the two starts, Trimble gave up three runs, two earned, on seven hits with four walks and five strikeouts in eight innings of work. Pitching in this game would be a good chance for her to gain some postseason experience but she also should give Seymour good at-bats in the bottom half of the lineup. Trimble has a hit in seven of her last eight games and four RBIs in her last two games.

Keys for Seymour

Mormon Trail has only scored a total of three runs in their past seven games and they all came in one game. They were shutout in the other six. The Warriorettes should get on them early and not look back. Play your game, don’t let them stick around and take care of business on offense and defense to give you momentum going forward. Seymour has made it to the quarterfinals in each of the past two years, don’t expect that streak to stop this year.
