Seymour Warriorettes

The Seymour Warriorettes line up to shake hands after defeating Mormon Trail.

CORYDON — The Warriorettes couldn’t get to Wayne’s Sterling Berndt as the freshman pitcher kept Seymour off the board in Wayne’s 2-0 win.

Berndt was excellent, needing only 79 pitches to get through seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit and one walk with 11 strikeouts.

Wayne scored one run in the third and another in the fourth as their two runs proved to be enough to get the win.

Seymour finish the year with a 17-14 record. They will lose Nadia Howell and Hannah Hinners to graduation.
