Five runs in the first and fifth innings helped Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont pick up a 12-1 road win against Centerville on Thursday.
Carly Mihalovich made her second straight start on the rubber for the Redettes and would take the loss after giving up 12 runs on 11 hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
EBF’s Emma Lenox launched a two-run homer, her fourth home run of the season, in the first inning to set the tone for the Rockets.
Centerville had a chance to get on the board in the first inning with runners on second and third with one out but two straight strikeouts would strand them. The Redettes had similar chances in third and fifth inning but would strand two runners both times.
Mickey Stephens was the only Redette with multiple hits on the night, going 2-for-3 with a double. Claire Mathews also reached base in all three of her at-bats, two came by way of EBF errors.
Centerville (8-9) hit the road on Monday at 5:30 p.m. for a doubleheader against Central Lee (4-12).
