As basketball returns for the second half of the season after a two-week break, we take a look at where local boys stand among the stat leaders of the four Iowegian schools.

The five main individual categories are led by Moravia’s Brady Bickel (scoring) and Hunter Arbogast (steals) along with Moulton-Udell’s Dakota Veldhuizen (rebounds and blocks) and Seymour’s Noah Wells (assists).

Leading the way with nine representatives in the top five is Moulton-Udell. Moravia follows close behind with eight while Seymour has six and Centerville has two.

Moulton-Udell’s Dakota Veldhuizen, Moravia’s Hunter Arbogast and Seymour’s Noah Wells and Prestyn Lawson all appear in three of the five categories. Vedhuizen has been very impressive for the Eagles this season averaging a double-double with an average of 10.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, one assist, two steals and 3.5 blocks per game.

As a team, Moravia is the best of the four averaging 60 points per game while giving up an area-low 45.8 points per game.

At the start of the new year, Centerville sits with a 2-7 record. Moravia looks to continue their hot start with a 9-1 record while Seymour is 3-5 and Moulton-Udell is 1-8.
