On the heels of their addition to the Centerville sports ranks, the Centerville swim team is competing this summer ahead of their inaugural season in the fall.

The team consists of 19 local kids from ages 7-16.

They are a part of the Central Iowa Swim Conference, which includes teams from Waukee, Marshalltown, Pella, Knoxville, Grinnell and Newton.

Centerville will be attending four conference meets. They have already competed in Knoxville earlier this month but still have competitions in Marshalltown (June 25 and July 16) and Grinnell (July 2).

The season will wrap up at the Summer Iowa Games on July 20-21 in Ames.

After the season, the Centerville swim team is hosting a summer family fun meet at the Centerville City Pool.

The Centerville boy’s team will officially hit the waiter starting in the 2019-20 school year in November. The girl’s team will then join them in the fall of 2020.

Middle school swimmers will still compete for the Centerville club team through the YMCA.
