MARSHALLTOWN — The boys and girls state tournaments have passed meaning the State Co-ed golf tournament in Marshalltown would be the final high school tournament played for this golf season.

Centerville once again competed in the event with the same four golfers they brought to American Legion Memorial Golf Course last year.

Kaleb Cochran and Elizabeth Meng played together for a third straight year as the two would finish in a tie for 14th with an 85, just three shots off of a medal in 10th place.

Cochran and Meng finished third last year with a 77 and 19th two years ago after shooting an 83.

Cole Cooper and Hannah Bailey teamed for a second straight year as the two would take 51st after carding a 100. Cooper and Bailey shot a 97 last year.

All four Centerville golfers are seniors and played their last round of high school golf.

Clear Lake’s Ashley DeLong and Tate Starbeck took first place this year after shooting a 73.
