One key player for Moulton-Udell
Wyatt Stansberry didn’t pitch in their game against Central Decatur earlier this year but he will also certainly get the ball this time around. The junior has a 2-4 record paired with a 5.16 ERA with 58 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings. Moulton-Udell will need a good outing out of him but will also need him to get the bats going at the top of the lineup. Stansberry leads the team in batting average (.348), doubles (seven), triples (one) and stolen bases (17). When he gets on base, he is a smart but aggressive base runner that will help the Eagles get some runs on the board.
Keys for Moulton-Udell
Use your defense to fuel your offense. Moulton-Udell averages nearly five errors per game, which was last in the Bluegrass Conference. Limiting these mistakes would go a long way to keeping the Eagles in this game and giving themselves a chance to use their bats with a purpose. If they dig themselves a big hole with their defense, then what they do on offense may not affect the final outcome.
