Home Care Aide Day was held at the Appanoose Country Club on Sept. 17. Twenty-three home care aides from Appanoose, Wayne, Monroe, and Lucas attended a luncheon and program as a thank you for their dedication and care they give to the ill, handicapped, elderly and veterans in their community. Hanna Wiltamuth, Appanoose and Wayne County Conservation Board Naturalist, spoke about how care and empathy transformed a community. Another speaker, Samantha Thomas, RDN, LD Registered Dietician Nutritionist, talked about healthy food choices. Appanoose County, with the help of Wayne County, has hosted this event for more than 25 years. Willa Dobbs was recognized at HCA Day for 20 years with Appanoose Community Care Services.
