Women's group discusses politics

On Tuesday a group of approximately 30 women gathered at the Hungry Cow to listen about Emerge Iowa, a state organization that is a growing network of women across the state who stand in support of women wanting to make changes in the systems that run our communities. Mary Stewart, a member of the League of Women Voters of Ottumwa and a board of director for Emerge Iowa, attended the Tuesday evening meeting to discuss the opportunities that both organizations can offer women. Lottie Wilson and Susan McDanel hosted the meeting to help encourage like-minded women to come together and possibly start a women’s group here in Appanoose County. Pictured is McDanel discussing with area women about her experience running for Iowa House of Representatives and what having a women’s group in Appanoose County can do.
