The B.V. Sodbusters met on April 28 at 7 p.m. at the Extension Office. The meeting was called to order by Emily Lewis and roll call was answered by 16 members with five visitors present. American Pledge and 4-H Pledge was led by McKinley McClure and minutes from the last meeting were given. A club activity of bingo with a twist was provided by Layla Strode.
Old business: 4-H banquet was held on March 31. Fundraisers will be at Pizza Hut and Fareway. YQCA training was held at the beginning of April for those taking animals to the fair.
New business: The club voted to use the kiss the goat fundraising money to buy pole bending poles for the horse arena. Reminders that lamb and meat goat weigh-ins will be held May 4 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the fairgrounds. Livestock forms need to be turned into the Extension Office by May 15 and pre-entry will be in June. Fundraiser T-shirts were handed out to wear for our upcoming fundraisers.
Forms were passed around to sign up for food stand shifts. Pizza Hut fundraiser on May 7, we will bus tables for tips from 5-7 p.m. along with 20 percent purchases all day going to club if coupon turned in. We also signed up for Fareway cookout and bake sale on May 11 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Our club is in the process of planning a color run fundraiser and a fall dance for all the kids in 4-H.
Treats and drinks were provided by Emily Lewis. Presentations were given by Emily Lewis on her dog, Sarah Lewis on her cat, Summer McSweeney on glass etching, Layla Strode on her hamster and Payden Hoffman on her dog.
On May 5 we will have our farms tours followed by a pizza party at the park and meeting.
