Six CHS band members receive honors

Six Centerville High School students recently participated in the Iowa High School Music Association’s Solo/Ensemble Festival on March 23 at Clarke High School in Osceola. Solos were performed by Ashley Tieden, Cassie Stevens, Julianna Barth, Jared Ford, and Rachel Rudacille. A woodwind quintet was performed by Gabby DePrizio, clarinet; Ashley Tieden, bassoon; Jared Ford, French horn; Cassie Stevens, flute; and Rachel Rudacille, oboe.

Division I ratings, or superior, were given to Ashley Tieden for her bassoon solo. Rachel Rudacille also received Division I ratings for her English horn, oboe, clarinet, and alto saxophone solos. Cassie Stevens received a Division II rating, or excellent, for her flute solo, along with Julianna Barth on her alto saxophone solo. Jared Ford received a Division III rating for his French horn solo. The woodwind quintet also received a Division I rating at the festival.
