The B.V. Sodbusters met on June 23 at 7 at the extension office. The meeting was called to order by Emily Lewis and roll call was answered by 17 members with three visitors present. American Pledge and 4-H pledge was led by McKinley McClure and minutes from the last meeting was given. A club activity of two truths and lie was provided by Layla Strode.
Old business: Farm tours and pizza party was held in the park in May. Thank you cards were signed and sent to Pizza Hut and Fareway for our club fundraisers. Flowers were purchased and planted at the fairgrounds.
New business: Club voted to purchase wheel barrels and canopies for the fairgrounds. We will be closing the club account and having the funds transferred to the Extension Office. We discussed the fair schedule and what to wear when showing animals. Pre-entry for the fair needs to be done by July 1, will need to know what classes you will be showing animals in and pay for stall fees.
Monday, July 15 at the fair we will be having a cake walk and bake sale from 4-7 p.m. and Tuesday, July 16 we will be doing kickball from 1-2 p.m. for an activity for kids. We had a brief discussion that we will have a fall dance for all 4-H kids on Nov. 2 at Heffron's Barn.
Treats and drinks were provided by Layla Strode and Alyssa McElvain gave a presentation on her dog. After the meeting was adjourned the fair T-shirts were handed out.
On July 8 at 6 p.m. we will be having a short meeting and do fairground cleanup.
