Auxiliary, Legacy Foundation awards scholarships

Three $1,000 scholarships funded by the Auxiliary annual Valentine Candy Sale and two $1,000 supported by the Legacy Foundation were presented at the May 24 luncheon. The five recipients were chosen out of applications submitted to the scholarship committee.

Auxiliary Scholarship recipients:

Raeshel Andrews is a 2018 graduate of Wayne Community High School and she has been attending Indian Hills Community College and is studying to be a registered nurse.

Brandi Rexroat is a 2019 graduate of Centerville High school. She has attended IHCC throughout her high school career, taking online college courses. Rexroat plans to attend Missouri State University and plans to study occupational therapy. Once she completes this course of study, she plans to attend the canine rehabilitation Center in Florida for a certificate as a canine rehabilitator.

Kathryn Sharp graduated from Centerville High School in 2016, IHCC in the spring of 2016, DMACC in the summer of 2017 and is currently attending Iowa State University working on her biology and music degree. She is currently in the process of applying to medical school.

Legacy Scholarship recipients:

Lewis Braster graduated from Central College in Pella with his bachelor of arts degree in exercise science. He is currently attending Des Moines University and is pursuing his osteopathic medical degree.

Peyton Russell is a 2019 graduate for Centerville High School and he plans to attend IHCC and pursue a career in nursing.
