Maletta, Clark wed at St. Mary’s Church

CENTERVILLE — Meho Maletta and Brent Clark were united in marriage on Oct. 16, 2010 at St. Mary’s Church in Centerville. Father Dennis Schaab officiated the Catholic ceremony.

Meho wore a Kitty Chen Couture ivory satin gown with a beaded bodice, lace-up back and a chapel length train. She also wore a cathedral length veil with beaded edging. She wore earrings that belonged to her mother, Kimie and carried a handkerchief borrowed from her father, Jack Maletta.  Meho carried a bouquet of dark red roses and orange calla lilies. Her bouquet also included brown decorative wire and a picture of her mother. She was escorted down the aisle by her father.

Meho’s attendants included maid of honor, Chelsea Fulton; bridesmaids, Erika Fogle, Kathi Crew, Kristin Maletta and Brooke Smothers; and junior bridesmaid, Cheyenne Bostwick. The maid of honor wore a strapless, claret red, Dessy satin gown and the bridesmaids wore strapless, European red, Bill Levkoff satin gowns in the style of their choice. They carried bouquets of orange calla lilies. Flower girls were Cambree Smothers and Brynn Clark. They wore ivory gowns with a bubble hem. Personal attendant was Megan Jedlicka.

Brent escorted his parents, Bobby and Donna Clark, down the aisle. Brent wore a black tuxedo with a striped ivory vest and paisley patterned ivory tie. His boutonniere consisted of a dark red rose, orange calla lily and brown decorative wire.

Brent’s attendants included best man, Brandon Clark; groomsmen, Dane Blozovich, Randall Raskie, John Maletta and Jonathon Owens; and junior groomsman, Gunner Fogle. Ring bearer responsibilities belonged to Tysn Fogle. The groomsmen and ringer bearer wore black tuxedos with claret red tie and vest. Ushers were Dan Crew, Jeremy Fogle, and Anthony Smothers. They wore black tuxedos with latte colored tie and vest.

Gunner Fogle and Sarah Milks handed out programs and bags of leaves for the guests. Debbie Milks served as guest book attendant.

Music for the ceremony was performed by Megan Phillips, Michelle Fogle, Jack Maletta, and John and Kristin Maletta. They were accompanied by Chelsea Daniels on piano and Daniel Vanderlinden on trumpet.

The bridal party enjoyed a trolley ride to the reception at the Appanoose Country Club. Kirk and Laura Fulton and Flint and Carla Wahl were host and hostess of the reception. The reception was decorated with the help of Linda Johnson and many family members and friends. The tables had white table cloths, brown taffeta table runners and floating candle centerpieces that included dark red flowers and grape vines.  The chairs had white covers with a brown taffeta sash. The three tier cake and gourmet sheet cakes made by Village Cup and Cakes were served by Antoinette McCloud and Debbie Milks. Kenneth Mehrhoff said the prayer before the guests enjoyed the buffet dinner. They danced to music provided by James Adams.

The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Hawaii and have made their home in rural Mystic.

The Iowegian wants readers to think about the solicitation ordinance that will prevent groups or individuals from entering a roadway to solicit money. The Centerville City Council in June by a 5-0 vote passed the first reading of just such an ordinance. Public pressure and during a subsequent special meeting, the council voted 3-2 to table the ordinance. A second special meeting to discuss the solicitation ordinance is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at City Hall. So, the question of the week is, "Do you or do you not support the ordinance to prevent solicitation of funds in city streets?"
