BLOOMFIELD — The Centerville boys golf team used two fantastic performances by Alex Moorman and Blake Dabney to take first at the Davis County Invitational with 301 points on Thursday.
Moorman’s outing was good enough to land him atop the leaderboard. He fired a one-under par round of 69 and Blake Dabney posted the second lowest-score of the invite, carding a 71.
In addition, Jake Hargrave turned a laudable performance, shooting a two-round score of 79 strokes and Brett Kauzlarich finished with an 82, which included a season-best score of 38 over nine holes.
“I think we had a pretty solid leadership from from Alex and Blake,” Big Reds Coach Mike Carney said. “Jake Hargrave played consistent throughout and Brett Kauzlarich shot his season-low round of the year.”
Host Davis County finished with a collective score of 374 and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont finished seventh with 458.
The next time the Centerville Big Reds golfers will be in action will be tomorrow, when they host their own varsity classic beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Manhattan Golf Course.
