Lady Eagles grab second win

MOULTON — An 11-0 victory over Diagonal on Tuesday gave the Moulton-Udell Lady Eagles their second win of the season. The win is their second in three games.

The Lady Eagles recorded a three run first inning and a two-run second inning to take an early 5-0 lead. A sixth run fourth inning would solidify the win for Moulton-Udell. They’d eventually take the 11-0 victory in the shortened game.

“It has been nice to win two out of our last three games,” Moulton-Udell head coach Jason Ogden said. “The kids did a great job of swinging the bats tonight and hitting the ball hard. We still have work to do on the little things that could make us a very good team.”

Freshman Katie Selvy picked up the win for Moutlon, allowing just one hit over five innings. Selvy threw three strikeouts and gave up no walks.

Another freshman, Addison Westercamp, led the Lady Eagles offensively with three RBIs as she went 1-for-1 with a double and a run.

Moulton-Udell (2-13, 1-4 in BGC) hosted Melcher-Dallas on Thursday. The Lady Eagles host Orient-Macksburg tonight in a baseball/softball varsity doubleheader starting at 6 p.m.

Public pressure and during a subsequent special meeting, the council voted 3-2 to table the ordinance. A second special meeting to discuss the solicitation ordinance is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at City Hall. So, the question of the week is, "Do you or do you not support the ordinance to prevent solicitation of funds in city streets?"

A. I support the ordinance
B. I do not support the ordinance
C. Not sure
