Daily Iowegian unveils new community sports network

Centerville —

Recently, the Daily Iowegian launched Appanoose County Sports Desk, a Web site designed to provide extensive visibility for local sports action in the Appanoose County region.  It’s fun, interactive and free to participants of all ages.

ACSD provides the opportunity for local sports teams, organizations and school athletic programs to display their team results and individual accomplishments for all to see.  Also, various content each week will be extracted from the site to be printed in the paper.

Today we are excited to announce the release of our new online sports directory.  It has been developed as a convenient online platform for schools, park and recreational facilities, sports clubs and academies, leagues, and traveling organizations to share activity and program details.

Whether you are new to the area or have lived here all your life, our new online sports directory will help you find the sports or activities that are of interest to you.

From baseball to basketball, football to soccer, fishing to swimming, cheerleading to yoga – if you represent a local sports organization that offers youth or recreational sports or activities, feel free  to contact Marco  Santi at msanti@communitysportsdesk.com or call 1-888-853-7904, ext. 226, to register your program.

The directory can be accessed now by visiting www.dailyiowegian.com. From the home page, click on the “Appanoose, IA” community sports logo. Once at the site, click on the “Directory” tab in the top menu.  Submit your information by clicking on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page.

Please note that Sports Directory content must be approved before it appears online.

Poll

The Iowegian wants readers to think about rental permit fees. The Centerville City Council has conducted two working sessions and a third one is planned in order to get a feel for the public's appetite about raising rental permit fees from charging a landlord $25 every two years to charging a certain amount per rental unit per year. So, the question of the week is, "Are you in favor of Centerville increasing rental permit fees?"

A. I'm in favor.
B. I'm not in favor.
C. I'm not sure.
