BUSSEY – The Moulton-Udell baseball team came out on the losing end of a 1-0 contest against Twin Cedars on Wednesday in the Bluegrass Conference opener for both teams.

The M-U offense couldn’t muster a hit all night as the Saber’s pitcher finished with a seven-inning no-hitter.

Moulton pitcher Zeb Guinn was nearly as sharp, striking out 10 batters while walking none in six innings of work.

“We had a tough time at the plate as we were always one hit away from getting on the board,” commented Moulton-Udell head coach Brent Martsching. “We had runners on in every inning but two, we just couldn’t get that big hit. Zeb pitched his way out of some key spots. It’s a tough loss because we played good enough to win.”

Moulton-Udell (1-3, 0-1) is scheduled to host Seymour tonight in a JV/V twinbill.
