CORYDON – After earning the Perry Tournament Championship on Saturday, the Centerville Redette basketball team picked up another big win on Monday, defeating Wayne County 74-39.

Katie Dekker paced the Redette offense with a game-high 30 points while Kaylee Mehrhoff poured in 19 points and Maddy Oden added 13 points.

“We really did a nice job in the transition game. We really wanted to focus on pushing the ball off of turnovers and get some easy buckets,” said CHS head coach Nic Belloma. “Katie had a great night scoring with 30 points to go along with six assists and five steals in only three quarters of play. Maddy Oden had one of her better nights with 13 points, six rebounds, eight steals and seven assists. Mehrhoff had another double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. It’s nice to have a game like this to get all of your kids in the game.”

The Centerville win marked Belloma’s 50th win as a head coach. He’s midway through his fourth season as Redette coach.

“It's good to know that we have had some success over the last four years, but most of the credit belongs to all the players that have played for me the last four years,” added Belloma.

The Redettes (8-2, 3-1) travel to Albia tonight for an SCC contest.
