The Centerville Redettes defeated Davis County on Friday with a score of 54-41.
Kaylee Mehrhoff led the offense with 19 points followed by Olivia Starcevich with 17 points. Starcevich hit three-of-four three-point shots and had five steals for the Redettes. “Starcevich had a very solid game. She is starting to look more and more comfortable on the floor with each game that we play,” said Coach Nic Belloma.
Also scoring for the Redettes were Sam Robinson and Danyielle Barger each with six points and Maddy Oden and Megan DoBraska each had three points.
“This is the best that we have played as a team so far. Everyone was involoved in the game offensively and defensively,” said Belloma.
Mehrhoff led the team in rebounding with nine while Oden pulled down five and DoBraska had four for the team.
The Redettes were 13-for-24 in free throws. “It was nice to see someone other then Kaylee (Mehrhoff) knock down some free throw shots as we have been putting a lot of practice time into free throw shooting,” said Belloma.
The Redettes are now 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the South Central Conference.
They will be at home tonight against Putnam County in a varsity double header that will start at 6 p.m. at Lakeview.
