Centerville Freshmen pick up win over Seymour By Julie Clark - Sports editor The Centerville freshmen Big Reds basketball team defeated Seymour on Thursday night with a score of 56-32.
Leading the team to victory were Jake Hawkins with 14 points and James Robinson with 10. Also scoring for Centerville were Tony Armington with eight, Russell Bauer and Tyler Shanahan each contributed six, Jamey Foster and Austin Huebner had four each and Dakota Barnhill and Nick Knapp each scored two in the effort. “This was a very good win for us. We bounced back well from a tough loss to Ottumwa. I was really impressed with how we played team basketball. It was nice to get everyone involved,” said coach Tyler Gray. The Big Reds improved their record to 1-1 this season and will be at Davis County on Dec. 12.
