It was Albia on Monday and Eddyville/Blakesburg on Tuesday for the Centerville cross country teams last week and it proved to be a challenge for both the girls and the boys.
The boys team finished fourth at the E/B Invitational with Nick Kruzich leading the way with a third place finish.
Avery Schmidt led the girls finishing with a time of 17:46 for the Redettes.
“It was a tough night for the cross country teams. I knew this was going to a rough one after running the night before in Albia. I was proud of the kids for their effort. Nick Kruzich ran a great race and had to fight his way into third place,” said coach Matt Kruzich.
Kruzich ran the race in a time of 18:57.
“We have seen most of the teams in southern Iowa and it’s nice to be competing with most of them,” said Kruzich.
The Centerville runners will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Knoxville to compete in an invitational.
