Howar boys host final track meet By Jason McGrann - Sports editor CENTERVILLE – The Howar Junior High boys seventh and eighth grade track-and-field teams hosted the final meet of the season at Paul Johnson Field on Tuesday.
Centerville earned the overall team championship trophy after the seventh graders took first place and the eighth graders finished third. In seventh grade competition, Houston Moore took first in the shot put for Centerville and was also part of the 4x100 team that also claimed first place. Levi Sebolt had a first-place performance in the 7 flight hurdles and was part of the shuttle hurdle and 4x100 relay team that also crossed the finish line first. In eighth grade competition, Jamey Foster led Centerville with a first-place finish in the long jump, 100 meter dash, 400 meter dash and 200 hurdles. Foster’s 200 hurdle time of 26.24 set a new Howar Junior High record previously held by Brad Bond.
