OSCEOLA — The Centerville Redette tennis team improved to 6-1 overall and wrapped the South Central Conference schedule with a perfect 5-0 record following an impressive 8-1 win over Clarke in Osceola on Tuesday.

Heather Buttel, Allison Berner, Katie Berner, Melanie Hermon and Danielle Widmar each earned wins in singles play for Centerville.

“Shot selection, ball placement and finishing points were the key to tonight’s victory,” commented Centerville head coach Barb Climie.  “This is the momentum builder the team needed as we prepare for regional play.”

The Redettes (6-1, 5-0) return to the court on May 10 when they travel to team regionals in Fairfield. Centerville is scheduled to battle Albia at 9 a.m. with the winner scheduled to face the Chariton/Fairfield winner at 1 p.m.
