PELLA – The Centerville High School boys track team competed at the Central College Indoor on Friday in Pella. Centerville was one of 18 teams in attendance at the exhibition event.

Big Red Levi Long took first place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.66 while Logan Danko also had an impressive performance, finishing second in the 200 meter with a 24.40 time.

Centerville’s Ethan Moorman was ninth in the 200 (25.27) while the 4 x 200 meter relay team (Danko, Tye Oden, Jaylon Burgin, Jason Conrad) crossed the finish line eighth with a time of 1:43.37. The Big Red 4 x 400 meter relay team composed of Burgin, Long, Conrad and Oden took ninth with a 3:50.73 mark.

“We really improved from the week before,” commented Centerville track coach Jim McCord.

Centerville is scheduled to travel to Oskaloosa today for a quad against Albia, Chariton and Oskaloosa before hosting the Rosenbaum Quad in Centerville on Thursday, starting at 5 p.m.
