Redette freshmen fall to Mt. Pleasant, PCM and Davis County

The Centerville ninth-grade basketball team took a 52-19 loss to Mount Pleasant on Jan. 16, a 44-31 loss to Prairie City-Monroe on Jan. 18 and a 37-33 loss to Davis County on Jan. 19.

“It was a rough week for us, we lost another player, Chelsea Garretson, who went down in the PCM game with an ankle injury,” said Centerville coach Chuck Banks. “We got a lot thinner, however we are improving game by game.”

Megan DoBraska and Kaitlyn Daniels led the Redette offense against PCM and Davis County. DoBraska scored eight points against PCM and 10 points against DC while Daniels added eight points and nine points respectively.

“We went on a 15-0 run in the first half of the game,” commented Banks, referring to the Davis County contest. “I was so pleased with the overall effort of the girls. We ran out of gas and turned the ball over late in the game, which hurt us. I look for good things to come with this group.”

The Redette freshmen (3-7-1) play again tonight when they host Moulton-Udell.
