SEYMOUR – The Seymour Warrior baseball team picked up its second win of the season by defeating Lamoni 7-5 on Tuesday.

Travis Jellison improved to 2-0 on the mound after striking out 11 Lamoni hitters in seven innings of work.

Ethan Miller was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate while Dalton Sloan knocked in three runs for Seymour.

“We scored four in the fourth to take the lead for good. It was highlighted by Dalton Sloan's two-run single,” commented Seymour head coach Jerry Shipp. “Billie Ford led off the sixth inning with a double, and scored a big insurance run three batters later. It wasn't pretty but we found a way to win despite committing four errors and being outhit 11 - 8.”

Seymour improves to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the Bluegrass Conference.
