Hebrew or scriptural roots

Some time back as I talked to a dear friend I said, “something is missing in my Christian walk,” and her reply was I can tell you what it is. From that point on my life has never been the same. She started me on a scriptural journey that changed the very fiber of my being. A scriptural journey is scriptural understanding not a destination.

I found my true calling, my marriage is more awesome than ever. Thirty-two years and today it is more like a honeymoon. I am learning to understand what Yahweh (the Lord’s true name) has in store for my life.

I found I needed to know my Hebrew roots. Knowing you’re a born again Christian is great, but what then? You just go your own way and do your own thing, go to church on Sunday for two hours, follow the bulletin, listen to a few words from the pastor and you look at your watch if he goes to long. Sound familiar? Go about your worldly ways until next Sunday and do it again.

Knowing where you fit in the family of God (Elohim) is the most awesome feeling you will ever find in your life. Knowing his direction for your life is an awesome feeling, learning and knowing his purpose for your life and living it out gives you such joy and peace. Your life will never the same.

I encourage everyone to study the Bible, all of it, not just the New Testament. Yahshua (Jesus) only had the Old Testament to follow and we are to do as he did, food for thought. One more point is the Old Testament is quoted more than 600 times in the New Testament. Don’t take my word for it. Check it out. Always test everything when you study. It will light up you life.

The Iowegian wants readers to think about rental permit fees. The Centerville City Council has conducted two working sessions and a third one is planned in order to get a feel for the public's appetite about raising rental permit fees from charging a landlord $25 every two years to charging a certain amount per rental unit per year. So, the question of the week is, "Are you in favor of Centerville increasing rental permit fees?"

A. I'm in favor.
B. I'm not in favor.
C. I'm not sure.
