CENTERVILLE — Seven women of Drake Avenue Christian Church, Disciples Women of Christ, met at 12 p.m. Sept. 26 at Fellowship Hall for a co-op meal.

After the meal the business meeting was opened by president, Connie Wright with the recitation of "Our Prayer" by all members.

Sharon Cooper, recording secretary, placed the August minutes in the Iowegian.

Sally Bauer, treasurer, gave her report.

"Joys and Concerns" were taken for several members: Dean Butler who had surgery at Mercy Medical Hospital in Des Moines; Kathy Brown who is at Mercy in Des Moines; Elaine Salady in Golden Age Manor; Ilin Bowen's son who passed away; and Dorothy Rodgers getting treatment in Des Moines.

All people in the church are encouraged to give school supplies to Central School. The plan is to rotate to other elementary schools in the future.

Jan Spurgeon will conduct the Oct. 24 meeting as the president will be gone for three months.

A November meeting is not planned due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Disciple Women on Dec. 12 will prepare cookies for shut ins for Christmas.

This Sunday junior and high school youth will meet from 5-7 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy McElvain at the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

The meeting closed with the CWF Benediction.
