Moravia Community Vacation Bible School

Moravia Community Vacation Bible School wants to invite all children to “Happy Trails” western themed Vacation Bible School. The churches in our community: Grace United Methodist, Light of Light, and Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene are working to reach children with a memorable experience that will certainly bring the excitement of the Old West alive.

Moravia Community Vacation Bible School will be Monday, June 10 – Friday, June 14 and will be for children ages 3 years – completed 6th grade. Come to the Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene from 8:30 a.m. — noon.

Join us as we step back in time to a Wild West Town, where the kids hear daily messages from the Bible, as well the opportunity to ride horses, and horse drawn wagons. The arena behind the Nazarene Church will be filled with horses and many events every day that will truly delight young and old alike.

The Moravia Public Schools will be providing free breakfast and lunch for all children up to 18 years of age. There is small cost for any adult that would want to eat. Parents will be responsible for transportation to and from the school. There will not be buses this year.

The Community Vacation Bible School will also have a Bar-B-Q on Friday, June 14 at 5:30 p.m. for all the families of the children that attended VBS. Following the Bar-B-Q there will be a Grand Finale with Mike McCoy the Rodeo Clown, and his dog Holly! Come and see the horses, and enjoy the children as they share the great things they have learned throughout the week.

Admission is free, for all these events. Join us every day for Community VBS. Pre-registration is recommended and can be done by going to www.moravianazarene.com or by calling (641) 724-3649 or (641)724-3555. Moravia Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene is located at 405 Myra Lane.

The Iowegian wants readers to think about rental permit fees. The Centerville City Council has conducted two working sessions and a third one is planned in order to get a feel for the public's appetite about raising rental permit fees from charging a landlord $25 every two years to charging a certain amount per rental unit per year. So, the question of the week is, "Are you in favor of Centerville increasing rental permit fees?"

A. I'm in favor.
B. I'm not in favor.
C. I'm not sure.
