What does Enfys McMurry, spring, tradition, great food and friends have to do with each other? The answer is, everything. McMurry, local author and educator, will be the guest speaker at the annual May Breakfast hosted by the UMW of the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at 410 N. Main St. on Tuesday, May 6 at 9 a.m.
McMurry is the author of “Centerville: A Mid-American Saga.” In this definitive history, “Enfys captures both the particular feelings of Centerville’s citizens and how they reflected and participated in the larger American history.”
The May Breakfast, a tradition of the UMW of the First Church, is an opportunity for the women of the congregation to come together, bring their friends and enjoy breakfast and a program. This year’s menu is egg casserole, cinnamon rolls and fruit cups. Coffee and tea will also be served. The cost of the May Breakfast is $5 per person. Tickets may be purchased at the church office, from UMW members or at the door.
Everyone is welcome to participate in this wonderful tradition at the First United Methodist Church on May 6.
