CROP Walk to help Lord's Cupboard

The Daily Iowegian

---- — The Appanoose County CROP Walk for Hunger will be Sunday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. It is sponsored by the Appanoose County Ministerial Association. This is one of the ways we can help fight hunger locally and around the world. The goals are to raise $3,500 and increase participation. The walk will begin near the band shell on the square. Participants should be there by 1:45 p.m. The walk will go around town for approximately five miles. There will be three water stops including one with restrooms available. After the walk, refreshments will be served. Participants may walk the entire distance or part of it. Everyone is encouraged to walk and/or pledge to a walker. There will also be opportunities to help before or after the walk on Oct.13. Persons wishing to participate should contact their church or Janice Bolger at (641) 856-8251 for a packet. All packets should be returned to Janice Bolger used or not.

The money raised will be sent to Church World Service for disaster relief, such as hurricanes, tornadoes and floods and hunger projects. This year 25 percent will be returned for use in our own Lord’s Cupboard. The Lord’s Cupboard serves those in need in Appanoose County.
