New group sets focus on community improvement

The Daily Iowegian

---- — A new organization, the Common Group Interfaith Alliance of Appanoose County, made up of ministers, church leaders, civic and social service leaders has been constituted in Appanoose County. Our purpose is to help build a better community in any way that we can. Anyone and everyone is welcome to participate in our goals.

We do not require any religious statement of faith and welcome all people of faith and good will. For those who turn to us for assistance, our desire and our plan is to work with them and all possible agencies and programs in the community to get them the help they need so that in time they no longer need our help.

We are a 501C-3 tax exempt organization. Our elected board members are the Rev. Sara Galindo of Drake Avenue Christian Church, the Rev. Jeremy McElvain of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Rev. Dennis Gilbert of First United Methodist Church.

We will have an informational booth on the north of the square on Pancake Day and welcome your questions, concerns and conversation.

Come join us.
