Help is found in the Lord

Sometimes the experience of life, whether for us individually or as a community, feels like being precariously perched on a teeter-totter with an unpredictable, unreliable “partner” on the other end. So where do we turn for help?
There’s no doubt about it, our real and present help is to be found in the Lord. Ancient words have comforted the faithful, and those who seek that peace of mind which really does pass all understanding, for centuries. Their message is for us, too. For you:

I look up to the mountains; does my strength come from mountains?
No, my strength comes from God, who made heaven and earth and the mountains.
He won’t let you stumble, your Guardian God won’t fall asleep.
Not on your life. Your Guardian God will ever doze or sleep.

God’s your Guardian, right at your side to protect you -
Shielding you from sunstroke, sheltering you from moonstroke.

God guards you from every evil, he guards your very life.
He guards you when you leave and when you return, he guards you now, he guards you always.
- Psalm 121 (The Message)

It is my prayer that we individually, that we as communities of faith, that we as a community might turn our hearts to that One, submitting our will and all our ways to that One’s counsel and direction. In the midst of life’s roller coasters and teeter totters, there is One who is constant, One who Guards, Guides and Protects. Seek ye the Lord. Yes!
