The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigated a personal injury accident approximately three miles east of Promise City. A 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Aron Joseph Koll, 20, of Centerville, was westbound on Highway 2 when it struck a coyote. Koll was transported by the Wayne County Ambulance to the Wayne County Hospital and then air lifted to a Des Moines hospital. Damage to Koll’s cycle was estimated at $2,000. Also assisting at the scene were the Seymour First Responders and the Seymour Fire Department.

May 16

Seymour Police arrested Jeremiah Joseph Clinkenbeard, 34, of Seymour, on a Wayne County warrant for domestic abuse assault. The charge was in connection with an incident in Seymour on May 12. Clinkenbeard appeared before the magistrate the following day and was released after posting bond.

May 18

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Scott Perkins, 51, of Corydon, on a charge of public intoxication where yea appeared at the Wayne County Jail to serve time on a previous conviction. Perkins appeared before the magistrate the following day and is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail.

May 19

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Corydon Police arrested Jeffrey Lynn Sorensen, 29, of Corydon, following an incident at the Corydon residence. Sorensen was charged with two counts of assault on a peace officer and one count each of public intoxication, reckless use of fire and explosives and interference with official acts. Sorensen appeared before the magistrate and is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bond.

May 23

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Emory Carl Robertson, 53, of Lamoni, on a charge of public intoxication earn be appeared at the Wayne County Jail to serve jail time and was intoxicated. Robertson appeared before the magistrate the following day and is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail.
