9:05 a.m. Caleb Michael Windschitl, 17, of Moravia, was driving a 2000 Ford Expedition south on Highway 5. The driver stated a non-contact vehicle pulled out in from of him from St. Joseph Drive going south. Windschitl stated he applied the brakes and the vehicle slid on the snow covered roadway. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway. Windshchitl tried to correct and the vehicle slid across the roadway going into the east ditch hitting the embankment. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,000.
5:59 p.m. Zachary John Bedford, 32, of Moravia, was driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber southbound on Highway T-61 when a deer entered the roadway from the west and was struck. Damage to Bedford’s vehicle was estimated at $3,500.
7:53 p.m. Crystal Dawn Norris, 24, of Mystic, was driving a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix southbound on Highway S-70 when a deer entered the roadway from the east and was struck. Damage to Norris’ vehicle was estimated at $2,500.
10:38 p.m. Christopher Lee Hale, 34, of Ottumwa, was charged in the 100 block of East Union Street with public intoxication and domestic assault causing bodily injury.
Derrick Eugene Duffy, 31, of Centerville, was charged at the Law Center with parole violation.
3:03 p.m. Matthew David Jonaitis, 26, of Centerville, was charged at 216 Park St. West with OWI, third offense and driving with a suspended license revoked for implied consent and failure to file SR. He was later released on his own recognizance.
