The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Candy Lorraine Watson, 52, of Chariton, on a Wayne County warrant for fifth degree theft. The charge was in conniption with a non-sufficient funds check written to a Corydon business in 2011. Watson was released the following day after posting bond.

April 9

The Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office arrested Aaron Lee Berry, 33, of Numa on a Wayne County warrant for non-payment of child support. Berry appeared before the magistrate the following day and is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bond.

April 18

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Tracey Austin Friend, 30, of Lineville, on a charge of domestic abuse assault following an incident at his residence. Friend appeared before the magistrate the following day and was released on his won recognizance.

April 19

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Nathan Allen Vicker, 23, of Creston, on a charge of operating while intoxicated after he was found in a vehicle west of Humeston on 30th Street. Vicker appeared before the magistrate the following day and was released after posting $100 bond.

April 20

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigated a personal injury accident at Highway S40 and Edison Road. A 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Clinton Eugene Johnson, 47, of Corydon, was northbound on Highway S40 and a 1986 Ford pickup driven by William Pierce Garland, 44, of Corydon, was westbound on Edison when the two vehicles collided at the intersection. A passenger in the Johnson vehicle, Brittany Ann Johnson, 17, of Corydon, was transported by Wayne County Ambulance to the Wayne County Hospital. Damage was estimated at $3,000 to each vehicle. Garland was issued a citation for failure to obey a stop sign. Also assisting at the scene were the Seymour First Responders and Seymour Fire Department.

April 20

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigated a personal injury accident on Highway 65 in Humeston. A 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Charles Kent Herdrich, 62, of Princeton, Mo., was northbound on Highway 65 wen a 1991 Eagle Summit driven by Alan Joseph Barr, 18 of Weldon, pulled out from a business drive into its path. Herdrich and a passenger, Donna Deanna Herdrich, 60, of Princeton, Mo., were transported to the Wayne County Hosptal by Wayne County Ambulance. Damage to Herdrich’s Jeep was estimated at $3,000 and to Barr’s car at $2,500. Barr was issued citations for careless driving and failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Assisting at the scene were the Humeston First Responders and Humeston Fire Department.
