Jamie McHaffie, of Allerton, reported that it appeared someone had entered her residence sometime during the day. The only item reported missing was a pair of riding gloves. The gloves were value at $80.

May 31

Catherine Cawthorn, of Allerton, reported that a 4-wheeler was missing from a shed on their property. Value of the 4-wheeler was not listed.

June 3

Corydon Police investigated a property damage accident in the parking lot at the Wayne Community School. A 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Ridge Patrick Downard, 17, of Corydon, backed into a parked 2002 Ford Explorer owned by Angela Downs, of Allerton. Damage to Downs’ car was estimated at $1,500. No damage was caused to Downard’s vehicle.

June 7

Des Moines Police arrested Jeremy Austin Collins, 27, of Des Moines, on a Wayne County warrant for fourth degree theft. The charge was in connection with a non-sufficient funds check written to Corydon businesses in January of 2008. Collins was transported to Corydon where he appeared before the magistrate and was released on his own recognizance.

June 7

Des Moines Police arrested John Warner Wise, 50, of Des Moines, on a Wayne County warrant for failure to appear for a show cause hearing. Wise was transported to Corydon where he appeared before the magistrate and was released after posting $2,600 bond.
