Corydon Police arrested Jesse Colt Willey, 29, of Allerton, following an incident in Corydon. Willey was charged with public intoxication, criminal mischief, assault on a peace officer, interference with official acts, assault and domestic abuse assault. Willey appeared before the magistrate the following day and is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.
Corydon Police investigated a two-car accident at North Johnson and East Anthony streets in Corydon. A 2013 Toyota Camry driven by Dennis B. Huffine, 64, of Papillion, Neb. and a 2007 Saturn Ion driven by Laci Nicole Terrell, 22, of Corydon, collided at the intersection. Damage to Huffine’s car was estimated at $1,000 and to Terrell’s at $2,000.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigated a personal injury accident approximately one mile south of Allerton. A 1994 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Alicia Lynn Nickell, 16, of Allerton, was northbound on Highway S26 when the driver lost control on the curve. It then went into the ditch and flipped over end to end and landed on its wheels. The driver and two passengers were taken by Wayne County Ambulance to the Wayne County Hospital. Damage to Nickell’s vehicle was estimated at $5,500. Also assisting at the scene were the Allerton First Responders and the Allerton Fire Department.
