3:30 p.m. Faith Dawn Kaster, 54, of Centerville, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox and was stopped at a red light on South Main Street. A 2002 Pontiac Sunfire driven by Johnna Jolyn Conn, 21, of Centerville, was traveling north on South Main Street. Conn’s vehicle hit the rear end of Kaster’s vehicle. Conn said she was distracted by someone in the Aldi parking lot and did not see Kaster’s vehicle stopped. Damage to Kaster’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000. Damage to Conn’s vehicle was estimated at $1,000. Conn was charged with failure to maintain control.
7:02 p.m. Cassidy Dawn Cady, 17, of Lucas, was driving a 1988 Chevrolet Blazer eastbound on Highway J3T. The vehicle entered a curve and drove onto the south shoulder, over corrected and causing the vehicle to slide across the center line. The vehicle entered the north ditch and rolled multiple time before coming to a rest on its tires in a field. Cady stated she looked in the rear view mirror and over corrected when she left the road. The vehicle was recently purchased by the driver and was not licensed. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000. Cady was transported to Mercy Hospital in Centerville by ambulance with incapacitating injuries. She was charged with failure to maintain control. Karrah Payge Kasper, 15, of Chariton, was also transported to Mercy Medical Center in Centerville by ambulance with incapacitating injuries.
4:32 a.m. Michael Raymond Swarts, 26, of Bloomfiled, was charged at 21629 272nd Ave. with OWI, first offense. He was later released on his own recognizance.
6:53 p.m. Audrey Michelle Johnson, 33, of Centerville, was charged in the 1900 block of South 18th Street with failure to appear.
8:21 p.m. Duane Richard Olsen, 60, of Henderson, Nevada, was driving a 2012 Toyota Camry westbound in the 21000 block of Highway J18 when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $8,000.
