10:25 a.m. Larry Gardener, 76, of Kirksville, Mo., was driving a 2013 Cadillac Escalade westbound on West North Street in Moravia and approaching the railroad crossing. Nancy Jo Kelley, 69, of Unionville, Iowa, was driving a 2004 Ford Escape in the same direction behind Gardener’s vehicle. Both drivers stated there was a truck pulling a camper in front of them which slowed and came to a complete stop prior to the track. Kelley swerved her vehicle to try to avoid striking Gardener’s vehicle. Kelley’s vehicle then entered a ditch and struck a mailbox. Damage to Gardener’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000. Damage to Kelley’s vehicle was estimate at $3,500. Damage to the mailbox and post owned by Dianna McGregor of Moravia was estimated at $60.

Oct. 6

2:58 a.m Josie Ann Oden, 18, of Cincinnati, was charged in the 18000 block of Highway J46 with OWI, first offense. She was later release on a promise to appear.

Oct. 9

6:11 p.m. Douglas Charles Tieden, 44, of Moravia, was charged at the Law Center with OWI, first offense. He was later released on order of the court.

Oct. 11

4:03 p.m. Michael James Raymond Deram, 23, of Exline, was charged at 402 E. Second St. with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released on a promise to appear.

Oct. 13

12:52 a.m. Travis John Smith, 32, of Kansas City, Mo., was charged in the 26000 block of Highway 2 with stalking and violation of a no contact order.

4:19 p.m. Dakota Lane Ballanger, 19, of Centerville, was charged at 185th Avenue and 550th Street with OWI, first offense and possession of alcohol under age. He was later released on his own recognizance.

7:30 p.m. Clint William Bankson, 42, of Centerville, was driving a 2004 Chrysler Concorde LXI northbound in the 14700 block of Highway 5 when a deer entered the roadway striking the front side of the vehicle. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,000.

Oct. 14

10:50 a.m. Theodore Johnathan Reger, 29, of Plano, had his parole/probation revoked in the 200 block of West Van Buren Street.
