8:49 p.m. Karen Ann Luscan, 72, of Centerville, was driving a 2014 Cadillac XTS on North 13th Street when her vehicle, which had the right of way, was backed into by a 2010 Ford Fusion driven by Alisha Nicole Baker, 25, of Marion. Damage to Luscan’s vehicle was estimated at $2,500. Damage to Baker’s vehicle was estimated at $600. Baker was charged with unsafe backing.
7:13 p.m. Alisha Nicole Baker, 25, of Marion, was charged in the 200 block of North 13th Street with driving while barred. She later posted bond and was released.
10:10 a.m. Tony Dale Henderson, 46, of Ada, Oklahoma, was charged in the 900 block of East Maple Street with operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.
1:28 p.m. Kris Erhardt Koestner, 67, of Centerville, was operating a fork lift in the alley driving west approaching the intersection of North 12th Street when the forklift ran out of fuel and stopped with the front forks partially in North 12th Street. Koestner was chaining the propane tank on the forklift when a 1999 Ford Windstar struck the forks. Koestner said he yelled and waived his arms to get the driver of the van, Ivan Darold Cochran, 92, of Cincinnati, to stop. Cochran continued to drive forward and then stated he had to pick up his dog and left the area. While police were speaking with Koestner, Cochran returned. He stated he noticed the forklift and swerved to miss it, but didn’t go far enough and struck the forks. Cochran’s wife and daughter stated they told him to move over to miss the forks and then told him to stop but Cochran left the scene. Cochran stated he left the scene because he had to pick up his dog at the vet and it could not wait. Damage to Cochran’s vehicle was estimated at $3,500.
