3:52 a.m. Anna Devere, 22, of Unionville, Iowa, was charged at 18th and East Walnut streets with assault on an officer with other injuries and interference with official acts. She later posted bond and was released.

8:18 a.m. Burglary was reported in the 500 block of North Park. The victim reported an attempted burglary.

2:21 p.m. Criminal mischief was reported in the 800 block of Drake Avenue. The victim reported mirrors were broken off a gold Alero. Damage was estimated at $250.

Oct. 10

5:52 p.m. Jerry Steven Smith, 38, of Moulton, was charged at South 23rd and East Cottage streets with failure to appear, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. He later posted bond and was released.

Oct. 11

12:22 a.m. Brittany Noelle Jones, 24, of Seymour, was charged at Fifth and West Van Buren streets with public intoxication.

10 p.m. Tanner Wade Cowan, 18, of Centerville, was charged at Seventh and West Maple streets with OWI, first offense.

Oct. 12

1:28 a.m. Scott Christopher Hawkins, 42, of Cincinnati, was charged at 19th and East O’Neal streets with OWI, first offense.

1:29 p.m. Robin Deann Stickler, 48, of Centerville, was charged in the 2000 block of South Main Street with OWI, third offense and driving without a license. She was later released.

Oct. 13

12:49 a.m. Lacey Jo Exline, 22, of Corydon, was charged in the 100 block of South Drake Avenue with OWI, first offense.

12:52 a.m. Travis John Smith, 32, of Kansas City, Mo., was charged in the 26000 block of Highway 2 with stalking and violation of a no contact order.

1:42 a.m. Jacquline Nicole Proffitt, 20, of Exline, was charged at 217th Avenue and Highway J46 with possession of alcohol under age.

2:03 a.m. Lucas John Stajcar, 22, of Exline, was charged at 217th Avenue and Highway J46 with OWI, third offense.

5:26 p.m. Shannon Floyd Fowler, 68, of Centerville, was charged in the 400 block of North 18th Street with assault with intent of sexual abuse. He later posted bond and was released.

Oct. 14

9:32 a.m. James William Seddon, 34, of Centerville, was charged in the 600 block of North Main Street with violation of a no contact order. At 3:15 p.m. Seddon had his pre-trial release revoked at the Law Center.

11:45 a.m. Kevin Anthony Bonus, 40, of Des Moines, was charged in the 200 block of South 15th Street with failure to appear.

The Iowegian wants readers to think about the solicitation ordinance that will prevent groups or individuals from entering a roadway to solicit money. The Centerville City Council in June by a 5-0 vote passed the first reading of just such an ordinance. Public pressure and during a subsequent special meeting, the council voted 3-2 to table the ordinance. A second special meeting to discuss the solicitation ordinance is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at City Hall. So, the question of the week is, "Do you or do you not support the ordinance to prevent solicitation of funds in city streets?"
