The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigated a property damage accident west of Corydon. A John Deere 7210 tractor with two bales of hay driven by Tony Dean Arnold, 50, of Corydon, was southbound on 60th Street north of Liberty Road and a Caterpillar 460 combine driven by Bradley David Ball, 27, of Lacona, was northbound on 60th when they sideswiped each other at the crest of a hill. Damage to Arnold’s tractor was estimated at $20,000 and to Ball’s combine at $1,000. Damage to a bean field owned by Jim Dawdy, of Corydon, was estimated at $2,000.

Oct. 13

Corydon Police investigated a property damage accident on Highway 2. A 2005 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Jocey Lee Parham, 15, of Corydon, was pulling from the Hy-Vee parking lot onto Highway 2 when it struck a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Derrel Dean Jellison, 49, of Powersville, Mo. Damage to each car was estimated at $500.

Oct. 13

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Randy Joe Terrell, 47, of Corydon, following a vehicle stop on Highway 65. Terrell was charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense. Terrell appeared before the magistrate and was released after posting bond.

Oct. 14

Mary Miller, of Corydon, reported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office that someone had burglarized her home. She advised that several pieces of jewelry were taken. Estimated value of the jewelry was $7,540. The case is still under investigation.

Oct. 17

Corydon Police Department arrested Cody Keith Pearson, 27, of Mystic, after a routine traffic stop. Pearson was charged with driving while license is suspended. He appeared before the magistrate the following day when he was fined and released.

Oct. 18

Corydon Police Department investigated a property damage accident at the intersection of Highway 2 and West Street. A 1995 Ford F-150 driven by Lyle Gilbert Beavers, 78, of Corydon, was traveling west bound on the highway and proceeded to pull away from the portable school stop sign when a 2011 Chevy Traverse driven by Kim Renee Arnold, 44, of Corydon, proceeded to cross Highway 2 north onto West Street. Beavers’ vehicle struck the back passenger side of Arnold’s vehicle. Damage to Beavers’ vehicle was estimated at $100 and to Arnold’s was estimated at $1,500.

Oct. 23

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigated a property damage accident at North DeKalb and West Anthony streets in Corydon. A 2007 GMC Envoy driven by Brandita Kay Taylor, 24, of Corydon, and a 1998 Dodge Neon driven by Jordan Lynn Tennis, 19, of Corydon, collided in the intersection. Damage to Taylor’s car was estimated at $2,000. No damage was reported to Tennis’ vehicle. Taylor was issued a citation for failure to obey a yield sign and Tennis was issued a citation for failure to show proof of insurance.
