7:20 a.m. Joetta Ellen Cortesio, 51, of Plano, was driving a 2008 Jeep eastbound on Highway J18 when the vehicle struck a deer. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,500.

3:06 p.m. Melissa Sue Graham, 41, of Moulton, was charged at the Law Center on an out of county warrant. She was later transferred.

6:32 p.m. Holly Marie Kellis, 38, of Mystic, was driving 2007 GMC Envoy northbound on Highway J5T when the vehicle struck a deer. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,500.

Dec. 4

7:28 a.m. Dexter Gene Bartmess, 24, of Livonia, Mo., was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado northbound in the 27000 block of Highway 5 when the vehicle left the roadway to the right and attempted to make a U-turn on the crest of a hill. Kristi Jean Cosgrove, 39, of Moravia, was driving 2002 Ford F150 northbound behind Bartmess’ vehicle. Cosgrove observed Bartmess’ vehicle leave the road and begin to make a U-turn. Cosgrove’s vehicle attempted to swerve to the left to avoid a collision. The front of Bartmess’ vehicle struck the right rear side of Cosgrove’s vehicle causing Cosgrove’s vehicle to leave the roadway and come to rest on the right shoulder. Damage to Bartmess’s vehicle was estimated at $1,500. Damage to Cosgrove’s vehicle was estimated at $1,500. Bartmess was charged with making a U-turm on a curve or hill.

Dec. 6

5:48 a.m. Travis Dean Knowler, 25, of Moulton, was driving a 1999 Jeep Cherokee westbound on 543rd Street when his vehicle met a 2008 Ford Fusion driven by Robert Benson Pease, 48, of Moulton, on the crest of a hill. Knowler’s vehicle was on the wrong wide of the road and collided with the left front of Pease’s vehicle. Both driver’s were transported to Mercy Medical Center in Centerville by Moulton Ambulance. Pease was listed as possibly injured. Knowler was listed as having incapacitating injuries. Knowler was charged with driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway.

12:18 p.m. Nickolaus Bruno Paul, 20, of Mystic, was driving a 2002 Dodge Neon southbound on 215th Avenue when his vehicle was struck by a 2011 Nissan Altima driven by Christopher William Strube, 50, of Centerville. Strube failed to obey a stop sign at the intersection of 490th Street and 215th Avenue and turned north onto 215th Avenue into the path of Paul’s vehicle. Damage to Paul’s vehicle was estimated at $3,500. Damage to Strube’s vehicle was estimated at $10,000. Paul was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines by helicopter with incapacitating injuries. Strube was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Centerville by private vehicle with non-incapacitating injuries. Ruth Effie Strube, 57, of Centerville, was listed as an injured person. Strube was charged with failure to yield half of the roadway when meeting a vehicle and failure to obey a stop sign.

Dec. 7

Robert Wayne Hoffman, Jr., 47, of Centerville, was charged at 18th and East Prairie streets with violation of a no contact order. He was later released on a promise to appear.

Dec. 8

9:53 a.m. Donald Henry Warnock, 60, of Centerville, was driving a 1998 Ford Ranger southbound when he lost control of the vehicle on the snow covered roadway. The vehicle crossed the centerline, went down into a ditch and struck a tree. Damage to Warnock’s vehicle was estimated at $4,000. Warnock was transported to Mercy Medical Center with incapacitating injuries.

Dec. 9

1 p.m. Siera Mae Rummans, 21, of Cincinnati, was driving a 2001 Mazda Protege eastbound on Highway J29 when she lost control of the vehicle on a snow covered roadway. The vehicle went into the eastbound ditch before rolling onto its top. Damage to Rummans’ vehicle was estimated at $2,500. Rummans was transported to Mercy Medical Center with possible injuries.

Dec. 10

3:32 p.m. Anthony Skilar Pierce, 26, was charged in the 900 block of East Green Street with first degree harassment. He later posted bond and was released.

Dec. 16

5 p.m. Robin Joseph Kempf, 47, of Centerville, was charged at the Law Center on an out of county warrant.

6:15 p.m. Tyler Jeffrey Devore, 25, of Mystic, was charged at the Law Center with third degree theft. He later posted bond and was released.
