9:15 a.m. A 2006 Pontiac Grand Am was located in a ditch east of 539th Street north of Highway J46 by a semi tractor driver at approximately 11:47 a.m. The driver, Brittany Marie Zemo, 26, of Centerville, was sitting on the ground next to the vehicle. Zemo had lacerations to her head and an obvious broken left leg. Zemo stated she was by herself and thought the accident had occurred about 30 minutes ago, which was not possible as there were no tire tracks in the snow leading up to the accident and the car was covered in snow along with all the pieces that came off the car in the accident. The driver was not sure where she was coming from or where she was going. A third party stated the driver left Numa at approximately 9 a.m. and was heading to Centerville. The driver’s mother also stated she spoke with the driver around 9 a.m. and she was okay at that time. Officers estimate the accident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. The driver of the car was transported to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance with incapacitating injuries. Zemo was charged with driving while revoked.
