9:28 p.m. Derek Riley Miller, 24, of Moravia, was charged in the 800 block of South 10th with probation/parole revocation.

Dec. 12

Criminal mischief was reported in the 800 block of South 15th Street. A wooden fence was reported damaged. Estimated cost of damage was $10.

Dec. 12

A two vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Haynes Avenue and Van Buren Street. David Taylor, of Centerville, was driving a 2010 Buick Enclave when he failed to make a complete stop at a stop sign and proceeded eastbound to enter the roadway. Elizabeth Starr, of Numa, was driving her 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier northbound. The two vehicles collided in the roadway. Damage to Taylor’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000. Damages to Starr’s vehicle was $5,000. Taylor was charged with failure to obey a stop sign.

Dec. 13

An accident was reported at the intersection of 18th Street and Terry Street in Centerville. Dale Collins, of Centerville, was stopped on South 18th Street to make a turn on to Terry Street in his 1979 Chevrolet Truck. Jason Whitehead, of Centerville, stopped behind Collins in his 1995 Ford Ranger. A 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, driving by Jodi Bradley, of Cincinnati, rear ended Collins’ vehicle, which pushed Collins’ vehicle into the rear of Whitehead’s vehicle. Bradley was charged with failure to maintain control. Whitehead was charged with driving while suspended. Damage to Bradley’s vehicle was estimated at $800, damage to Whitehead’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000 and damage to Collins’ vehicle was estimated at $300. Whitehead was listed in the accident report as injured.

7:30 a.m. Floyd Duane Robb, 67, of Centerville, was charged at the Centerville Law Center with OWI, second offense.

2:39 p.m. Tabatha Kay Kuehl, 26, of Centerville, was charged at the Centerville Law Center with identity theft and credit card forgery. She posted bond and was released.

Dec. 14

3:53 p.m. Cristy Lee Thudium, 34, of Centerville, was charged in the 100 block of North 18th Street with failure to appear. She posted bond and was released.

The Iowegian wants readers to think about the solicitation ordinance that will prevent groups or individuals from entering a roadway to solicit money. The Centerville City Council in June by a 5-0 vote passed the first reading of just such an ordinance. Public pressure and during a subsequent special meeting, the council voted 3-2 to table the ordinance. A second special meeting to discuss the solicitation ordinance is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at City Hall. So, the question of the week is, "Do you or do you not support the ordinance to prevent solicitation of funds in city streets?"
