7:03 a.m. Carlon Ray Slay, 70, of Centerville, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban southbound on Highway 5 when the vehicle struck a log that fell off a logging truck in the southbound lane. Slay was not injured. The other vehicle involved was a 1998 Peterbilt Semi driven by Jonathan Hoover Nolt, 28, of Bloomfield. Nolt was unaware that the vehicle had lost logs until he reached his destination. Damage to Slay’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000.
12 p.m. Mary Evelyn Rysdam, 43, of Drakesville, was driving a 2011 Lincoln MKT west in the 23000 block of Highway J3T when several deer entered the roadway running north across the highway. Rysdam was unable to stop her vehicle before striking a straggling deer with her vehicle. Damage to Rysdam’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000. Rysdam was transported to Davis County Hospital by private vehicle with non-incapacitating injuries.
8:30 p.m. Robert Lee Bloomquist, 51, of Exline, was driving a 2008 Ford Fusion westbound in the 28000 block of Highway 2 when the vehicle ran off the roadway to the right and began to slide broadside, parallel to the roadway in the ditch. The vehicle then slid into the east embankment of the driveway at 28916 Highway 2 and is believed to have been airborne as it came out of the ditch and across the driveway. The vehicle came back into contact with the ground on the west side of the driveway and continued westbound along the ditch, rolling over multiple times. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000. Bloomquist was transported to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance with non-incapacitating injuries.
9:36 p.m. Crystal Rene Perrin, 31, of Cincinnati, was charged in the 400 block of South Liberty Street with having an animal at large.
