7:03 a.m. Carlon Ray Slay, 70, of Centerville, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban southbound on Highway 5 when the vehicle struck a log that fell off a logging truck in the southbound lane. Damage to Slay’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

11:07 a.m. Cedric Ernest Moss, 50, of Cincinnati, was backing a 1999 Ford Windstar out of a private drive onto 600th Street and backed into the right rear tire of a southbound 2014 Peterbilt truck driven by William Joseph Barbaglia, 33, of Centerville. A passenger in Moss’ vehicle, Charlene Dawn Moss, 45, of Cincinnati, was transported to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance complaining of pain in her hip. Moss was charged with failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to Moss’ vehicle was estimated at $1,500. Damage to Barbaglia’s vehicle was estimated at $500.

Feb. 16

5:33 p.m. Richard Eugene Raymie, 80, of Moravia, was driving a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria southbound on Highway 5. Dave Lee Johnson, 36, of Des Moines, was driving a 2007 Ford Focus southbound on Highway 5. At the intersection of Highways 5 and J18 Raymie’s vehicle entered the turning lane in order to turn left into Moravia on West North Street. Raymie had his left turn signal on. Johnson’s vehicle was continuing south on Highway 5. Then Raymie decided to turn his vehicle right onto Highway J18 and his vehicle hit the driver’s side door of Johnson’s vehicle. Damage to both Raymie’s and Johnson’s vehicles was estimated at $1,000. Raymie was charged with turning from an improper lane.

Feb. 23

4:52 a.m. Cole William Davis, 37, of Moulton, was charged in the 22000 block of 310th Avenue with willful injury and assault with a dangerous weapon. He was later given pre-trial release.
