Feb. 6

12:34 a.m. Devon Ray Schwering, 24, of Centerville, was charged in the 23000 block of Highway 5 with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

10:01 a.m. Judith Ann Posovich, 68, of Centerville, was backing a 2004 Chevrolet Impala out of a residential drive in the 1700 block of South Main Street when her vehicle collided with the front of a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix which was being driven north on South Main Street by Taylor Nicole Tieden, 16, of Centerville. Damage to Posovich’s vehicle was estimated at $800. Damage to Tieden’s vehicle was estimated at $950. Posovich was charged with unsafe starting of a stopped motor vehicle.

11:31 p.m. Zachary Bocephus Egbert, 28, of Centerville, had his parole/probation revoked in the 1000 block of South Main Street.

Feb. 7

8:11 p.m. Veronica Ann Rose Repasz, 16, of Centerville, was driving a 1996 Ford F-150 north on Shamrock Lane when the vehicle went off the east side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle went into an uncontrolled skid. The vehicle left the west side of the roadway and struck a utility pole spinning 180 degrees before coming to a stop. The driver stated she believed the vehicle hit a patch of ice after making the correction retuning to the roadway. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,500. Damage to a light pole and power line owned by Alliant Energy was estimated at $1,000. Repasz was transported to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance with non-incapacitating injuries. Passenger Sydnee Allyson Watts, 16, of Centerville, was transported to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance with possible injuries.

8:43 p.m. Anthony Michael John Hogg, 18, of Exline, was charged at the Law Center with assault causing serious bodily injury.

Feb. 8

10:59 p.m. Conan Lee Pierce, 21, of Cincinnati, was charged at Haynes Avenue and East State Street with public intoxication.

Feb. 9

8:49 a.m. Gary Dean Hogg, III, 32, of Centerville, was charged at 20th and East Stewart streets with driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released on his own recognizance.

Feb. 10

5:47 p.m. Gary Dean Hogg, III, 32, of Centerville, was charged in the 1700 block of South 20th Street with driving with a suspended license. He later posted bond and was released.

Feb. 12

11:49 a.m. Gage Allen West, 28, of Moulton, was charged in the 900 block of East Green Street with failure to appear and interference with official acts.

The Iowegian wants readers to think about rental permit fees. The Centerville City Council has conducted two working sessions and a third one is planned in order to get a feel for the public's appetite about raising rental permit fees from charging a landlord $25 every two years to charging a certain amount per rental unit per year.
